Dick Dunn has been building wooden boats since 1971. Unhappy with the state of commercially built models, Captan Dunn set out to adapt traditional plank boat construction to modern day materials. His all wood boats are sea kindly ( for the nautically challenged, that means they ride smoothly, even in rough waters) and beautiful to look at. The boat at right is adapted from the sturdy viking boats of some 1,000 years ago.

Don't let these small boats fool you. Many are being used by commercial fisherman and are prized for their stability and smooth ride.

His current boat, the 21 foot Goldeneye (not pictured), is the culmination of over twenty years of boat building experience. This boat is small enough to allow close up wildlife viewing, yet sturdy enough to carry six people and all their equipment even in rough waters.
